Ashley John. Nightburn is the name that stuck.
I'm a full-stack developer working with React, Next.js and Python. I build websites, backend APIs and internal tools for people who need ideas turned into something real.

What's up?

a little context...
Ashley John

somewhere between
design & engineering

I'm a software engineer who likes turning messy ideas into products that feel considered, work properly, and are actually useful.

I've spent the last few years building for real businesses across Nigeria and the UK, working across frontend interfaces, full-stack applications, websites, APIs and integrations.

I'm particularly interested in the space between design and engineering. I care about how something looks and feels, but I also care about what happens underneath it: performance, accessibility, maintainability, SEO and whether the thing still makes sense months after it ships.

How I work: I don't just write code. I figure out what your business actually needs, design the architecture to support it, build it cleanly, and ensure it's optimized for search and speed before we launch.

My core work is around React, Next.js, TypeScript and Node.js, but I'm deliberately broadening my toolkit. I'm currently exploring Flutter and automation, especially ways to connect products, APIs and workflows so teams can spend less time doing repetitive work.

I'm still learning, experimenting and figuring out where I want to take the craft next. But I'm very comfortable taking an idea, figuring out what needs to happen, and getting it shipped.
